We are a small, close-knit team with a big footprint and we are looking for a sharp, self-directed finance and operations professional to keep the engine running.

    THE ROLE

This is a full-time, fully remote role responsible for the financial and operational backbone of The Bucket List Studios and its related entities. The right person brings a strong finance and accounting foundation, thrives with autonomy, and can hold a global perspective across multiple business lines simultaneously. You will work directly with the founders and serve as the primary point of contact for insurance, payroll, legal, and investor-related matters.

    • Run payroll and complete all payroll tax filings.

    • Facilitate sales tax compliance for the merchandise business.

    • Coordinate quarterly R&D tax credit redemption in partnership with outside advisors, ensuring timely filing and maximizing available credits.

    • Maintain a financial overview across all Bucket List entities, providing strategic perspective and business support to the founders.

    Insurance & Risk

    • Manage all business insurance policies in coordination with the company's third-party insurance broker, ensuring adequate and current coverage across entities.

    • Maintain employee health insurance coverage, including open enrollment coordination and ongoing administration.

    Legal & Compliance

    • Work directly with outside legal counsel to keep trademarks and patents current across all Bucket List brands.

    • Ensure ongoing corporate compliance across entities.

    People Operations

    • Own the full employee onboarding and offboarding process for Bucket List Studios, including preparation of all related documentation.

    • Serve as the internal point of contact for HR-related matters for a small, close-knit team.

    Investor Relations

    • Manage the cap table and investor records through Carta, maintaining accuracy and keeping investor communications current.

    • Support ongoing investor reporting and documentation as needed.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field required; a concentration in Finance or Accounting is preferred.

    • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or business operations, ideally in a startup or lean organization.

    • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, including payroll functionality.

    • Experience managing business insurance, HR administration, and vendor relationships.

    • Familiarity with cap table management platforms such as Carta.

    • Comfortable working independently with minimal oversight and managing multiple priorities across different business lines.

    • High integrity, strong attention to detail, and a genuine ownership mentality.

    • Experience working with outside attorneys, CPAs, brokers, and other third-party service providers.

    • Experience with R&D tax credit processes is a plus.

    • Passion for creative, mission-driven companies is a plus.

    • Exceptional discretion and trustworthiness. This role touches sensitive financial, legal, and investor information across a family-owned portfolio and confidentiality is non-negotiable.

    • Genuine eagerness to learn and integrate AI tools into financial workflows. We are an innovative team and we welcome people who are curious about how technology can make their work sharper and more efficient.

    WHAT WE OFFER

    • Fully remote and flexible working arrangement.
